How to set aircon to recycle as default mode

Hi, does anyone know how to set the Aircon to recycle/recirculate cabin air as a default during startup? I drive in heavy traffic daily and sometimes when I forget the recycle button in the morn I will get a blow of smelly diesel exhaust from those blue Malaysian buses. Have been searching the forum but I couldn't find an answer. Thanks in advance!

Ask PML to default it, 335 have recirculation memory as standard. Otherwise, you will have to find someone or DIY code it yourself to memory

Try this: to turn on the aircon, use the auto/recirculating button instead of the fan speed button. I believe this returns it to the last used position. This works for me.

I usually on the aircon from the steering wheel, which have the auto circulate button

I do this too but it's the instances when I forget. Then when I end up behind a blue monster, then I'll get blast by the bad smell... Lol...

Tried but perhaps I'm doing it wrongly. Lol.

Mine i juz set auto. No nid reset. Bt damn!! The stupid air outside still cum in. So useless

Nothing wrong with your car. It's because auto mode will take in a mixture of cabin and outside air depending on temperature. Unless you set to manual recirculation which is what I'm trying to do. Check out the thread below!

Re: How to set aircon to recycle as default mode

yes... do the aircon startup from the steering wheel instead of the fan button. However, PML or MA will not program ur aircon to auto circulating mode as default upon car start up. The reason they give me is tat it is a safety feature BMW designed..... damn stupid

Re: How to set aircon to recycle as default mode

Just wondering if any f30 owners experience this... In the morning I start engine, set to M (internal recycle) A/C button Not pressed, temp set 23, Auto off, I find very cold air blowing..not sure if aircon ON automatically even I do not press A/C button yet? This cold air last abt 5 min of journey, then I have to switch ON A/C cos it now gets warmer.

Auto recirculation ? Yah, the outside air will come in once in a while .....

Most F30 335 I've come across so far is 2012 car, when I/we first got our car, none of us have circulation memory, it is after PML/MA recode our car to later version (for recall or what not) that we got it as standard (never even ask, it come as a 'package' complimentary from BMW), and is valid until version F020-13-??-503 (can't remember the ?? number, could be 03 or 04 month).

320/328 don't get it, but "professional" coder can easily do this including "off memory".

P/S: Did you even change/set to the recycle mode? :D

hehe... mine is E90 335

and I've to manually set it to recycle almost everytime when I start the car. Only exception is when I stop/start the car within a very short window period, say within 10min?
