How to switch off headlights in new X1?

Hi there...this may sound dumb but it like there is no way to switch off the headlights in my new X1... When I put the knob to " 0", lights will come on. When I put the knob to auto, lights will also come on. Checked with my dealer and was advised that the new batch of X1 seems to be "like that one"! Welcome feedback on this.. Thanks!!!

If you are referring to the DRL (Daytime Running Light), can only switch off from the iDrive setting.
But why would you want to switch off the DRL? Its a good and nice feature, there are so many other car make trying so hard to imitate.

Hi, I do like the DRL but just wondering how to turn them off (in case I feel like stalking someone...ha ha ha).. Seriously what is the "0" on the light dial for if not to switch off all lights? Thanks!

The "O" is to off headlights but not DRL. The only way to off the DRL is from the iDrive, at least for my F10 that's the only way.

You can check with Codewerz if they can re-enable DRL option in iDrive for you. This option is available by default in the E84

Hi - it needs to be coded to have that show up on the iDrive ...

Contact me @ 98006232 if you need to get it done.

I have the same problem on my new G30 5 Series - the 0 button essentially does nothing with regard to turning off your headlights.

I used to control my headlights manually in my previous F10 model e.g. I would have my switch to 0 and only have my DRL on until the point I would decide to switch my headlights on. Now, the G generations will dictate when your headlights are to come on - this is when the sensor detects no UV, but the issue is it can still be extremely light at times. So often, I now am forced to drive about with my headlights on, rather then the nice DRL that come with my vehicle.

This is somewhat frustrating, but Ive been told that the 0 button cannot be placed to function as it did to the previous F Generation models.

any feedback will be much appreciated.

I too had exactly the same issue in my BMW. AD didn't want to code it. Just as I was going to give up, I chanced upon Elebest from Bukit Batok. They took all of 10 mins to fix it. Elebest, simply the best!!
