LOL, agree with you. Rode in new F80 M3 and disappointed with experience, especially the sound department. Rather keep my E92 M3 with its NA rumbling v8 engine

That clicking sounds familiar .... Valvetronic related.

But usually I would hear it with the bonnet up and windows down when doing resets.

Guess rod can't help. He told me to come down let him listen to it.. The biggest problem is consistently getting the sound out.. Despite me being able to record the sound 3-4 times.. Today I sent my car to Munich for a lock control unit change.. I thought I gotten the exact conditions to create that twit sound but we tried for 1.5 hours it refused to come out..

That's a tough one if symtom doesn't pop up consistently... Unfortunately you might have to bare with it.

No choice.. Already endured it for 4 yrs plus.. Lol.. I told Munich to try one more way to get the sound as they wanna hear where exactly it came from to isolate the location.. Then check the starter motor and vanos.. Last step then maybe gotta dismantle the engine to see if there is any inherent physical defect.. On hindside all the works and observation are recorded now.. If warranty ends then pop up got supporting evidence

How about trading in your ride for the new C63? V8 4L glorious soundtrack.. really no point living day in day out with an issue which nobody can resolves with your old ride.

It's in my consideration! I tried the c63s. But wife doesn't like the layout of the rear seats, she finds it uncomfortable.. :boring:
