So just wondering how much such a conversion will cost? From a 320 to 328?

I think most workshop charge you around 2-3K for the swap. The engine and all the stuff like ECU, harness etc you have to check with the seller.

Bro, E46 still quite new for the scrapyard market....very few only. The other day was looking for a used E46 ECU for a friend...even in M'sia also shout price very high...cos its rare.

You can try to call them and see if they have anything for you or not.

My understanding is that the ECU will not fit just another car.... Are u sure u can just get one from the scrapyard for the E46 an fit it in ???

Why not ? If you get the same part number, its basically a plug and play swap. Important thing is the part number must be the same. Look below your ECU and you will see the sticker. (It denotes the version of software that the engine is running on)

No! I have swapped out the ECU from my car before. In order for to use another ECU, due to some security feature built into the ECU, I first had to bring the ECU and the car to PML and get them to match the ECU with the car. If not, it will not work.
