Import of used car

Hi guys,

I am looking to import a used car from Malaysia. Car is about 1.5 yrs old. Can anyone here offer some advice and
pointers and what to look out for? Do I call LTA to check if car qualifies? I have heard of cars being PIed used from
the UK but not from Malaysia! Car was originally PI used from the UK into Malaysia.
Appreciate your advice.

You'll have to take note of various documentation a required under "technical requirements for imported cars" page 4-5.
These documents are only available if the cars are new. PI usually have to send their cars to a certification centre recognized by LTA. Last time the nearest was in Hong Kong. Not sure if there's any locally.
Best you check with the PIs. Of course you'll have to pay them some fees.

Yes, saw the long list of documents needed. Daunting to say the least. An agent would be able to ascertain if its doable.

when was the car register in UK.

quite a new model. Launched around July 2011. Definitely reg in UK in 2011.
