Improving Steptronic Shifts

Re: Improving Steptronic Shifts

1. put key in ignition
2. turn key to turn on the car, but dont start the engine
3. press the pedal all the way and leave it there for about 10-15 sec
4. turn off the car
5. then last step just start the engine

drive off.

Re: Improving Steptronic Shifts

Very confused here....

So do we put the key in ? Does it mean we don't put the key in and just push the start button ?

read about this trick some time ago on the Internet but can't remember the source...

from what i remember, the steptronic learns your driving patterns for the first 2000km thereabouts when new or after a reset... the cause of some jerkiness is that the cars are still in the "breaking-in" period for the first 2000km if purchase 1st hand, when the driver is gentle or maybe overly aggressive (hard breaking-in method) with their cars.

So the steptronic remembers and executes the shift patterns from the breaking-in period if it wasn't reset.
Tried, maybe it worked coz car feels very jerky today :yikess:

But installed exhaust n air intake today too, so wonder if its due to the new parts
