our cars are rather smart - when it senses that your car batt is running low, it disables most of the auxiliary devices which will drain the batt even further. hence the welcome lights don't work.
the auxiliary devices get powered on only when the batt recharges to a minimum level. so that's why when you drive your car for a while, the welcome lights work again.
now what caused the discharge? probably the comfort access function.
do you live in a landed property? do you leave your car keys in close proximity to the car after you park?
try putting it further away. like in the kitchen or something (assuming the kitchen is the furthest away from your porch.
