Mmmm...

I have been driving like a "pussy" for the past 2-3 days..... Noted the jerk happen much less often when on 'pussy' mode. ha....

will change driving mode and see if the jerk will happen everytime i stop or not..........

Driving all the time in manual mode will definitely cause more wear and tear, and the AT gearbox to wear out faster.

Hence, you probably want to change your ATF on a regular basis.

However 20-30k seems a bit overkill, 40k is the usual recommended interval for most Jap makes and their gearbox seem to last longer than BMW ones

Hmm, to be honest, I have been a "victim" of the infamous valvebody going kaput on my dad's previous E60. The mileage was approximately 80K km but the ATF was never replaced. The valve body was subsequently changed by the now defunct Khang's Transmission and we have sold the car away as the car was basically constantly "lighted" up like a Christmas tree with all the error signals popping up.

Well, I am just worried that the solenoids will be heated up more easily by driving the car in the manual mode and this may lead to premature wear la. But what I do is to change gears only from 2K rpm onwards and I try not to upshift and downshift too much. I used to change the manual transmission fluid at each servicing session for my Type R and well, I think I will change the ATF for the 323i at every 20-30K as a preventive measure. Wonder if this is the usual practice here?
