Inspection

Re: Inspection

yes.........
stock is the best!
good luck on your inspection.

Re: Inspection

Go to those far, far away inspection centers like Tuas. I think they are more lenient there.

Re: Inspection

Avoid Sin Ming. Anal about tints and exhaust. I heard.

Re: Inspection

If your inspection is due in 3 months and you go for inspection now - do you still have to go for inspection 3 months later ?

Re: Inspection

I had my inspection done at Sin Ming on my old drive. Some mods but passed 100%. I guess it depends on the inspector.

Re: Inspection

your mods will not pass wherever you go if they fall into the list not approved by LTA, or those that require LTA's approval but you did not do so. tinting and exhaust are strict everywhere you go.

only difference is analism you face over simple stuff like white lights, led side lights, etc... the sin min is the M.O.A.A. = mother of all anals.

the vicom at ubi is pretty fine. i just did my exhaust inspection there after leaving sin min when the sin min MOAA wanted all the documents associated with my car, potentially, my mother's, wife's and girlfriend's info too. i told him you are wasting my time, just reverse and did a 3-pt turn and headed to ubi.

at ubi, they welcomed me into the lane and did all the necessary and issued me my passed cert in about 40mins.

Re: Inspection

If you fail at one centre and plan to try your luck at another centre is that possible? Will they check and find out that you have failed at another centre?

You mean on the spot they demand you to remove? Or you can still drive away to get it remove properly?

yes they will know. unless u previously got STA, then after, go Vicom. If its Vicom ubi, u fail, u go to Vicom anywhere else, they will know you failed at ubi and why you failed

Re: Inspection

One thing I learnt at my recent inspection was that most, if not all, newer BMWs already have tinted windows. Stock windows according to the meter I saw read 73%, meaning for the fronts, any supposed 'legal' tinting you do invariably becomes an 'F' during inspection. This perhaps explains why some, including myself, instal 'legal' front tints and still @&$#¥€ failed n had to tia on the spot to pass.

Since like tat, after inspection, I promptly went back to Infratint to install dark dark one.

Sama sama.

BTW, "F" means tear on the spot !!! I took 4 hours to remove the residue on both driver's and passenger's windows.

Yeah thats a real bitch to remove. It makes more sense not to put on expensive films like 3M if you know you are gonna fail every 3 years. I hate when you gotta remove things like this which could possibly have small scratches on the screen if not removed properly.

Re: Inspection

i just passed my vehicle test late last month at vicom sin ming. my car is stock, so no problems. however, i noticed that they didn't do the tint inspection for the cars that were undergoing the test at that time, including mine. i have legal tint, so i guess they use normal eye power can tell it'll pass? or could it be concindental that the centre was busy and the long queue made them decide not to test all cars unless the tint is obviously dark?

Re: Inspection

Curious ah... Can you lower your front windows to do inspection? Say windows stuck or something...

Re: Inspection

it all depends on how strict the centre is, and who is the one inspecting it. can say it is either heng or sway one. i do mine at bukit batok and i always pass, but my car is stock also lah.
