Is now a good time to buy?
I would say yes unless or otherwise you can wait for yearend. This is because Cat B is lower at present.

Re: Interested in 520i (F10)

I am also interested in getting a 520i, but like PI like prices are much lower than PML? Are you bros predicting COE to go down at year end?

Ever considered the 523 Inline 6? Very strawberry!

Or even the 528 Inline 4 twin turbo?

Whatever is your choice, as long as it's a bimmer, it's a good choice! The Ultimate Driver's Car!

Come 2013, 520 got 0 green rebate. 520d got $10k upfront rebate. Additional road tax is $800. Over 10 yrs, nett gain = $2k.

Based on factory spec (combined cycle) & current fuel price, after driving 11.5k km, the difference btw 520 & 520d is $800. Anything above that is your gain.

In short, if u talk about $$$, 520d definitely lighter on wallet.

PML normally has Year end sale to keep up their lead over their neighbours. COE cannot predic lah!

I could be wrong, but 520i in auto box actually qualifies for 5k rebate. PML 5er catalogue is rated in manual box which has higher carbon emission.

In addition, I heard that this rebate means you pay less parf, also mean that your scrap value is lower. Therefore in reality, every 10k of "rebate" is really just 5k of real savings. Not 100% certain though. So if we include everything, 520d might be slightly more expensive?

Then again, everything is in the future. Yesterday and today, 520d doesn't make sense for most, unless you cover high mileage.
