Interested to get a 07/08 E60 530i

As titled above. Anything in particular to look out for and which workshop is reliable and trustworthy for a pre-purchase check?

Some queries related to the 530i and hope to clarify/seek some wisdom here..
- Few of those i viewed displayed "Insert Navigation DVD" when i selected Navigation in i-drive. Does this mean there's no GPS installed?
- Is HUD an option? Read some local reviews that it is standard, but those i viewed are not equipped.
- Can pedal shifters be retrofitted/enabled by installing a E60 M5 sports steering?

Opinions and advices are much appreciated.

For the usage of gps. U need to insert a gps disc into into the dvd slot just below the cd player.

For a really through check bring it to BVO at sin min they will know what condition it is in overall. Cost approx $90 or so for the check. Paddle shifters can be fitted i've done it on my 05 523 contact autospritz for more on that

Have just gone thru those available 530i in the market and it's pretty disappointing.

They are either high miler or poorly maintained. Guess I have to wait abit more.

How does the 525i compare against the 530 in terms of performance and refinement? Say 530 is a score of 10, how much will 525 score?

5/10 Performance is a world of difference
8/10 Refinement quite similar

Suggest you wait it out for the 530i if you can

I will rate 525 as "8" against "10" for 530
Sad to know that 530 you found now are mostly high mileage or poorly maintained.
The engine is really a gem.

Sad to hear this .. 530 was my first intention over my current 525i cos it come with comfort seat as standard which 525 don .. ( oh gosh l loved this seat so much ) but nevertheless I must say 525i from year 09 onward also not a bad choice looking at its new I drive knob , comfort access and comfort close door .. Of cos power wise u need to compromise a bit over 530 but I really don see any problem whenever I was driving along NS highway with 180 to 220 km/h. If only for Singapore road daily use I will say much more than enough... My only suggestion is not to buy 520 cos far too under power to drag this horse , and not 523 cos not worth as you are paying the same road tax as 525 . Beside I don see any significant price different btw 523 with 525. Just my 2cents

There are a few 530 in the sgcarmart, one are 07 with 86K mileage(I find 86K for a 07 ride is very low if it is not tempted).
Not well taken care should be your first priority rather than turned off by the high mileage car. I dont understand why many are so worried about high mileage car(If you can get it 10k+ below market price), and it is well taken care by the previous owner.
