i think it should be ok (i hope so) if u travelling up north during the day. at least, if something happens to your rft, u could find a shop during the day to replace the tire. yeah, they claim, without air, u can travel for (some say 500km, some say 200+km, n some say 100+KM) at a speed of 80km/h. that's theory but anything can happen in real life. bmw also claims theoretically u should change the engine oil every 25,000km but i doubt many bmw owners do that. theory is theory, real life situation is a bit different.

but also a problem if u travelling at village areas where there's no where tire shop to find. anyway, worst still, if u are travelling at night, say 12am......... all shops are closed. u just don't have the sense of security driving e90, knowing that if shit happens to your rft. there are many ways to save weight but why getting rid of space for spare tire? at least if u don't want to put the full size spare tire, put the little ones should be ok.

lots of people in australia complaining about lack of spare tire in e90 coz driving interstate in australia covers thousands of km. but then i guess, 99% of e90 owners would spend most of their time in the big cities.

air man pump? sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. but spare tire......always works.....

again, the best is still rft with spare tire like e60.

in terms of shape, the new 3 series coupe looks beautiful to me...........
ya i like the shape of the new coupe actually, can't wait to see it in skin

RFT? nah, ask saify he will tell you it will not last 1KM. haha

Re: Introducing the new 3 series coupe (2006)

bmwf1, sure or not rft without air can last 1km only???

wahh, if it is true, u guys driving e90 must have lots of guts............

Re: Introducing the new 3 series coupe (2006)

hahaha i see i see...

hmmm for me the first thing to go will be the runflats.... at least 18s on the car, and will just pray tyre doesnt puncture!!

haha it shld last more than 1km unless you are doing sprint driving.

Re: Introducing the new 3 series coupe (2006)

smyuen, only crazy people will drive e90 without rft.........hahaha.......

ok, things that i don't like about new bmw (e60 n e90, can't be bothered about new 7 coz i don't like 7)
-no engine oil dipstick. some things are better be seen manually than electronically/digitally. that's my opinion
-no coolant temperature gauge. well, bmw claims that the electrical water pump makes the engine warms up faster. but why the m5e60 and e60/e90 based alpina cars have coolant temperature gauge? instead, they get rid of the stupid fuel consumption gauge. that just shows how important the gauge is. again to me, some stuffs better be seen manually rather than being warned by the beeping alarm.......
-rear of e90 still looks like toyota vios.........
-no space for spare tire for e90

I guess I will the few who will lose the RFTs....

I am already imaging how my E92 may look like with 18s or 19s.... yeah... dreaming is good!

agree with you on temperature gauge! one time my engine thermostat blown.... can't see the temperature build up..just i-drive ping " engine overheating - stop driving" message! Darn idiotic!

e60 no dip stick meh? mine got ler.. old engine though. you mean the valvetronic no dip stick?

tossed the RFT long time ago and no spare in the boot just a pump! RFT sucks other than crispier steering feel on 18 incher!

Re: Introducing the new 3 series coupe (2006)

zag, your e60 530i is the earlier version which comes with m54b30 engine. same as my 2001 e39 530i engine. thus, both of them have engine oil dipstick. m54b30 has double vanos but no valvetronic.
the newer e60 530i comes with r6 engine coded n52b30, which does not have engine oil dipstick. this engine has double vanos n valvetronic.

smyuen, guess your z4 is not for long distance driving...........good luck with your future e92. ever think of 20" on your e92? yeahh, dreaming is good........

yeah maybe huh.... future e92 still in planning stage lah.... prefer manual though but dont know if PML will bring it in... kind of qeasy nowadays driving auto boxes... and hopefully the bi-turbo wont cost me an arm and a leg

20??? cannot lah buy tyre will die man..

just out of curiosity, you drive a hyundai 550??? hmmm......

Re: Introducing the new 3 series coupe (2006)

smyuen, considering that your future e92 will be used mainly in singapore, it doesn't hurt that much if u slap on 20". eventhough the tire will be costly each, but all of them might last more than a year..........would be very coool to see e92 with 20". damn bling bling, add pink color to the car......hehehe......

hyundai 550? my hyundai getz has v8 5.0L engine in it, rear-engined with front wheel drive...........hahaha........ damn, i hate hyundai cars especially hyundai matrix. it's not a sedan, it;s not an mpv, it's not a mini car, it's not an estate car, it's not a sports car, it's not a roadster, in fact it's not a car at all......haha... i hate the shape.....sorry to hyundai owners........
