make sure repairs and warranty issues r covered by seller or agent. these days if repairs cannot be handled by workshops, PML charges admin fee of $10k, not including repair charges to fix ur car.

should not be an issue as we have good workshop like BOSS, BVO and J4C............no need to go PML
good to go man........

Pls do ur sums prior to buying. If u r driving it for short term say ard 1-2yrs, it wouldn't be advisable to get used import.

Please also check on (1) history of importer (2) importer's authorised workshop, who is covering your warranty. Bear in mind the N54 block is not familiarised by many workshops, even if they are experts in BMW's NA engine.

I personally have experienced the lack of competency in two of the reputable BMW workshops who are site sponsors here.

Last, get a N54 expert to check for potential wastegate failure. The rest of common issues like HPFP has no obvious recognisable pattern.

it's either to spend some $$ and get a PML unit or save some $$ and research on the mechanics in what they does..
at the end of the day.. it's still the owner's decision..
enuff said about imported used.. can be a good buy if OMV is not very low..
