Just wondering if it is worth getting a 320i now @ $182800 with $29,000 discount off the car price or overtrade from PML..

it's an open secret for car cost. if your nett price - car cost = pml's profit = you are happy with it .... it is good to go

F10 omv so low also got many to buy ... so there is no answer to worth it or not

yup... agree with wt... so long as you are happy...

the good price will be end of life for the current 3 series... that one, will have all options thrown in at you without having to pay so much more... that's if you can wait...

this 30k discount doesnt happen all the time. in event COE really does go up more, i wouldnt be suprise the cann this promotion. i would say go for the deal if u really like the car. Am sure 30k is not all the discount u can squeeze from them. hehe

re-price the car higher and then give you a bigger discount. who gets the last laugh ? hehe

anyway, TS should do the math before making final decision - rationally or irrationaly. some says buying car in singapore is irrational ....

That price translates to $34k margin for PML. Like what Slater says, there is still room for negotiation. Their cashcow is now F10 which dealer has no interest in bargaining but you can bargain for bread & butter ones like E90. Or else wait for Dec or Mar lelong prices.

PML's pricing and discounts are quite standard and during certain periods of time. if u catch it the car would be a good deal

cisconet, how do you define "worth"?

If you mean comparing current price against prices pre-COE hike, it is of course not worth it. Particularly PML price which has increased substantially but cars come with low OMV. Worse still, not many PI offer 320i sedan.

Most of us here got our cars pre-COE hike. We are happily driving our cars now and many will not consider changing our cars in a market like this. (Of course some still will, depends on how deep one's pocket is.)

But then there's another school of thought especially if you are dying to drive a beemer or if you have already sold your existing ride - you only live once, and if financially you can do it, then just whack man ! Just don't overstretch yourself and end up borrowing from loan shark.

So whether you will miss the boat and end up buying higher next time, or you end up buying now and ganna carrot, well, to me, it depends on luck. Who can predict the future?

So my conclusion is that it is damn difficult to say whether it is "worth it" to buy now or not....... we ain't Paul the Octopus man.....

[btw just to share, in June 2010, they were having a promotion for some 2009 stocks (if I remember correctly) and the net price (list price after trade-off) is around $135k. Yes, around the same price as pre-COE hike's days. But again, I don't know if the same promotion will come back again. It may towards the end of life for e90, but then it will become an outgoing model liao.....]

Agree with C3PO that "worth" is largely subjective. Personally, I feel it's a matter whether you like the car and whether is it within your budget... if both yes, then go for it because there is really no best time to buy.

If you are not too particular about buying a brand-new ride, you can check out PPSL. They may have some low mileage and less than 1yr old 320i at about $135k. That is about $15k extra savings but only if you are not too particular and depends on your luck.

Not worth it. Check out sgcarmart for the prices of 1-1.5 year old cars.
