Putin is brilliant strategist...

Knows the ground in his favours, wins by vote. Knows the timing, Ukraine economy almost collapsing. Western world sanctions is just a short term punishment but for Putin it is just a small price to pay for Crimea. Moreover Russia control gas to many East Europe countries.

So who wins?

The US and EU can't afford a war .....

This is Russia's chance to stretch her legs .....

the fact is that after the soviet union...nato n the EU and all the US allies...start to encroach towards russias border. its very dangerous. putin will not hv nato at his front door.....and next to his giant blacksea fleet with nukes.

pull out the map and u will understand how important crimea is with that port. under treaty. the black sea fleet cannot pass turkey's bhosporus because that's NATO controlled as turkey joined the EU.

way I look at it. the west is forcing Russia into a tight spot. its lash back time.
