Tuning ? Revert back to stock and see how ?

Heee..actually I had this problem after installing exhaust so I thought it was the exhaust so I went tuning but problem still exists. .

I was on my ! year old F13 i face same problem after changing exhaust tailpipe to SS
But jerking at 1st and 2nd gear low speed..

Hi Guys,

Anyone has the experience above ?

Search the forum but mostly during slow on moving off jerking.


I experienced this from the past 2 days after I had my exhaust change ( muffler), when I floor my throttle I had this hesitation or sudden drop in RPM at range 5000 to 6000 and back in power before switching to 6th gear.( this only happened in 5th gear.)

What may be the cause?

My ride 630i 2009

I suspect ur gearbox ratio monitoring is faulty since u say upshift from 5 to 6 gear. . there are a few sensors in the gearbox mechatronic that monitors gearbox ratio. good news is it doesn't have to cost 5 to 6 k. of $$$.

Try checking your vanos solenoids.

Thanks Mate, I think the workshop mention about this as well but told me not sure and have to remove GB and mention est cost 5-6k!
Do you know any workshop whom can give a better advise and price?

i don't think it's the gearbox leh. more of the air fuel ratio.

If you are talking about my case...it cannot be air -intake as I have re-tune after exhuast change..

coupling rubber maybe . But i do not know does it have taht for E63, My former E46,E36 all have this and i always change then

Update...

went to gb specialist and was told the gearbox monitoring on 4&5 has issues and pressure lost is also causing the fault code to blink .... was ask to overhaul top gb since they will be taking it apart (no point fixing just the sensor). They will also change all necessary parts including clutchs and wear & tear, on top of this, they also advise to change all valve and solenoid at the mechatronics area to save labour cost.

Duration : 1 wweek
cost: below 5k inclusive gst

Should I go ahead?

Hahas...they are my second opinion.

First gb specialist quoted 5.5k with top overhaul only base on one round of butt feel test drive.

Who repair for you ??? Usually they come with 6 month warranty !!! BTW what is your milage ???

Repair not done.. just getting quotes.. milage 90k

Hmmm . have you do anything since day 1 or have old owner do anything ? If not it should be time to Fixed due to "usually no maintain have been done"

nothing was done .. guess you are right on the "time to fix".
Just wanna be sure the workshop is not over charging ...
