Any brother tried HKS suction air filter?

Do u mean the "green mushroom" ?

Re: K&N or Hurricane?

Looking at the green mushroom, it looks like it just uses some sponge, filtration is poor, so it lets alot of air in which some cars looks for.

Re: K&N or Hurricane?

Pardon me, the K & N filters you guys are talking are those that just dropped into the filter box at the right side of the engine for e46?
There is no need to do any mod to the air filter system right?

K&N are washable, reuseable.

Yes, dirty air filter will lead to higher FC. :verysad:

Re: K&N or Hurricane?

just fitted hurricane at j4c today, very reasonable price and throttle feels lighter indeed. can feel more 'pull' from the car at mid-high rpm range.

kam siah snowdog! now on the lookout for more poison...

Re: K&N or Hurricane?

i can't give a fair assessment about low end unfortunately, cos i also upgraded my tyres/rims from 16" to 18" right after installing the above-mentioned...
but mid-high end wise i definitely felt an improvement.

Thank you for your FR. Good recommendation, right?

You know where to look for poison, don't you? ;)

Re: K&N or Hurricane?

After cleaning the filter......you need to apply layer of K&N brand "lubricant" onto the mesh....to trap the dirt.

Yes, need to apply a thin layer of K&N oil after washing and drying. ;)
