Kampong Arang vs Alexandra Road

Hi bros,

Going for my regular servicing since owning the car. May have to change brake pads at the same time.Kampong Arang is nearer to my place so prob go there. Bros who have tried out servicing their rides in both workshops or heard any similar questions, are they the same? Will try outside workshops next to compare but will go PML first. thanks for the help man.

Hi,

This is all depending on the CSA than location itself.

Usually what they do will to retrieve out faults code from your ECU and do necessary repairs (electrical faults). As for mechanical stuff, highly depends on the experience of the CSA for failure analysis and most importantly, your "luck".

As for the workmanship wise, both are same same la.

I've heard that Kampong Arang, because the big bosses of PML are not there, the CSAs are more relaxed, and are sometimes more willing to accomodate special requests.

Alexandra Road, tends to be very busy, you end up waiting a lot and get the feeling the CSA wants to move on to service the next guy coz there's just so many cars to do.

Latest news is that Alexandra has some new receptionists that are quite chio, this might tip the scale in favor of Alexandra for some :laughlik:

I normally do my work in Kampong Arang cause it's near my workplace. My CSA seemed overworked, but they do take the time and effort to correct faults. Sometimes incorrectly.

Just cross your fingers don't kenna the supervisor there. :yikess:

thanks bros....just brought in today. You're right KA doesn't seem as crowded as Alexandra. Receptionist quite ok there. Went to check out the new E90, showroom boh lang leh...but then what time and day right . The technical guy quite friendly and took some time to explain certain things about the car for example how the mouldy smell from the AC comes about, brake pads types etc...anyway will be collecting car later and will file Damage and field report later...

Anway, I prefer the environment at Kg Arang as far as car servicing goes but I must say it's rather boring there coz aint got BMW showroom

Ah..I see. That explains the ah-sohs sitting at the recept area. Anyway, Kg Arang has a BMW showroom lah. It's next to the mini showroom. Of cos it's not as big as the one in Alexandra, and you wont get to take pix of the F1 car in Kg Arang..kekeke
