Re: Ker-Nah Speeding Ticket %#@$&^*^$

Okie, it is my turn to write a sob story to TP......

I kena 8 pts and $170 coz I was going at 91km/hr on a 60km limit road at Telok Blangah West Coast Highway. I just crossed to the next threshold level, think if I appeal can reduce pts or not?? The thing is my record not very good, all my past demerit points for speeding one even though erased already....

Re: Ker-Nah Speeding Ticket %#@$&^*^$

i got mine last month.... prob. ard 100-110km/h on PIE 80km/h stretch
bah.......

Re: Ker-Nah Speeding Ticket %#@$&^*^$

mock. on pie everyday for the last 4 years at 90-100 even on the 80km simei stretch. so far so good. heard there is an allowance of 10km/h. anyone can confirm this?

Re: Ker-Nah Speeding Ticket %#@$&^*^$

My understanding for the unofficial 10km/h allowance is only on the legal speed limit. So for example if the legal speed is 60km/h, and you travel at 70km/h it will likely apply. But once you exceed this threshold its a different issue althogether.

Any MA TA around that can confirm this?

Re: Ker-Nah Speeding Ticket %#@$&^*^$

guys dont u all think while road safety is important, cars have become more powerful than 20 yrs ago but the limits are still like 20 years ago and never review? How can a 3-lane both ways 'highway' such as lornie road, with little or practically no pedestrains crossing that area, be 70km/h limit?

Don't think a waiver letter's gonna work in your case man!! If it's slightly over the limit, maybe still got chance, but your case it's 30-40kmh!! You're lucky you didn't exceed 40kmh else your license will be revoked... Happened to a friend of mine :(

+40 to 50 km/h is 9 points plus fine $170 (Light Vehicle) or $200 (Heavy Vehicle)

+50 to 60 km/h is 18 points plus fine/jail term to be decided in court

+60 km/h is 24 points plus fine/jail term to be decided in court
