Key Fob Losing Range

Ever since installing V-Kool, my key is getting less and less sensitive. However I have another car and no such problem exists. I recalled reading somewhere that the BMW key is self-charging. Am I wrong? Is there a battery inside that need changing?

I tore out the V-kool coz it was affecting my GPS. I guess it'd affect your key fob range too...

I didn't tear out my V-Kool. I had them cut a square hole in the windscreen where I suctioned my Garmin. GPS solved but wireless key still a problem.

Re: Key Fob Losing Range

isn't the key suppose to be charged when you insert it into the slot?

but on the other hand, i have heard of the rechargable key battery spoiling in the E90post forum

ya, maybe vkool's metalic base cut down the frequency a bit. i have the same problem too but got used to it. just press only when u are 3m from car lor.

heard that with certain solar films when applied to car does affect the signal range of the key. happened after changing solar films on my car as well. so just have to go closer then use the key.
