Re: Koni FSD Installed!

I had my KONI FSD's installed about 3 weeks ago an I agree the ride is great! Comfortable on the straights and firmer at the corners... its actually more comfortable than stock I feel..

Only problem is the default lowering is way too impractical - my car was slammed man.. so had to do some modifications - changed the rear rubber paddings to the thicker ones, and made-to-measure the front supporting metal brackets..

Now ride hide is
- no fingers at the back (but can see more tyre than before)
- 2 fingers at the front (stock is 2 plus fingers, and with default lowering it was no fingers)

I am just wondering, was my spring height the correct one to begin with in the first place? Seems strange that the manufacturer will make such ridiculously low ride heights leh?

Now I find my front a tad too high for my liking...grhh... got to lower it again...

When i saw ur car, it was really slammed man!!!... wahaha.. i heard u had to roll ur back fenders to acc the tyres right?.. maybe u should consider buying new springs??.. my setup is Rear-no gap ( fender just above the tyre) Front- 2 fingers. i find the current setup very good for me ..

Hi SM, Wow good to know that I'm not alone :) But the FSDs don't come standard with springs, which springs did you get?

Yeah... had to roll.. and do lots of touch up just to get the height correct... now its 1 finger front, and no finger rear. I like!

Maybe my springs were incorrect to begin with..but oh well...

Re: Koni FSD Installed!

How come cars are always lowered more in the rear than in the front? I never understood that. Is that more for an aggresive stance or is the front higher because of the required clearance?

Thanks in advance. :)

In terms of suspension setup, it is wrong to measure the gap between the tire and the wheel arch. To get a good setup, your height from the floor to the side skirt just after your front wheel and before your rear wheel should be the same. IE to get this, your front will look higher (IE 2-3 finger gap btw the tire and wheel arch while the rear should be around less than 1 finger gap). It may look funny but is what a good alignment tunner sld do to your car setup. That is also why the stock suspension from all manufacturer is setup this way.

Cheers!
:)

Re: Koni FSD Installed!

Welson,
Are you sure? My car is set up to be 2 finger rear and 1 finger front. This is called raking and is suppose to allow for less weight transfer to the front during hard braking.

Re: Koni FSD Installed!

Re: Koni FSD Installed!

Re: Koni FSD Installed!

hi andy.

i guess the fsd is just shocks? and i need to change the springs also?
i'm looking to improve the ride without losing too much comfort. lowering is not requirement.

Re: Koni FSD Installed!

Hi All

Have just install two units of BMW E60 on FSD dampers with OE springs. Feedback is positive and hopefully the owner will be able to post their positive feedback online to view by all the bros here

Hi!
How much lower was the car compared to stock and what was the cost (parts and install)?

For the FSD dampers set, it does not come with the Lowering spring and you can use back the original spring to match with the FSD dampers. However, if you will want to lower your car and able to supply you with the KONI Lowering spring as well since there is a limitation when using lowering spring whereby not able to lower more then 30mm

For pricing , please call 68428300 or PM

Thanks and regards
