Hi, perhaps your car came with the Xenon light which by default German regulation need to have the headlight spray due to high intensity of the light which require washing/spray of the front light cover.
When the light is turned on, be it pilot light or headlight, it will trigger the spray to the head light which consume more water from the tank.
Check this feature by on the light and apllying water spray with another person standing in the front to observe.
