Leather Squeaking

Hi,

Does anyone know what I can do to stop the squeaking that comes from the seat belt clasp (next to the handbrake) when it rubs against the side of the seat? Or has anyone experienced this before?

Thanks

No way to stop it. Quite common for E46. You'd get use to it after a while. (like me!)

Only way to stop it is to change the buckle.

Cheers!

Re: Leather Squeaking

What I do is to shift the seat lower so that it wont rub with the buckle...
Its damn irritating... I tried using all sorts of leather lotion and thought it will work but nothing seems to work.

Re: Leather Squeaking

1. Adjust the seat height, so that it doesn't rub against the leather side.

2. Put liberal amounts of BMW leather lotion on the seat, it will reduce the squeaking.

3. Put 3M felt tape on the side of the buckle, so that it reduces squeaking.

4. While you're at it, put one or two drops of machine oil into the buckle holder.

Hope it helps... I still have almost a full roll of the 3M felt tape left... you can get it from most DIY shops.
