Long term BMW addict moved back to Singapore

Hi my name is Peter and I confess to being a BMW addict.

I have owned BMW cars continuously for the last 20 years.

I lived in Singapore 10 years ago and drove a black 323ai purchased new from Performance Motors.

I have just moved back to Singapore after a few years living in Bangkok. I sold my 520D when I left Bangkok.

I am currently planning my next BMW purchase, probably a 325i. I understand that the diesel BMWs are not available in Singapore.

Any buying tips will be gratefully received.

What is the story with the CoE these days? Price? Availability?

Is Performance Motors still the best place to shop?

What are the typical "deals" or "packages" that can be negotiated?

Regards
Peter

Hi there, welcome in! For the 325i, are you referring to the E90 sedan? Or E92/93 Coupe/Cabrio? PML is the priciest one. If you want some assurance on warranty and servicing issues and want a peace of mind, pay more to get it from PML. If you want to have some savings and spend a little time getting external warranty and servicing, then get it from a Parallel Importer (PI). You can get more info at this website: Singapore No.1 Car Site for New Car & Used Cars - sgCarMart

Cheers and hope you get your bimmer soon :)

Welcome back to Singapore Peter. Where were you from?

Yes, diesel BMWs are not available here.

COE hovering around $18-20k. Government has reduced the quota, so less supply now.

Performance Motors is still the only authorised dealer here. But PIs are getting very popular, thanks to PML :lol2:.
You can get E92 325 from PI. I'm not sure about E90 325 though.

welcome back peter. for sedan 325, i suggest getting from PML as there is not much price difference as compared to PI. but if ur getting a coupe or cabrolet, PI will save u loads.

I would be getting a new model sedan.

I normally prefer to buy a new vehicle from the authorized dealer so I guess that I will talk to PML.

In terms of negotiations, in Bangkok, it was typical to ask for the dealer to include:

- 1st year 1st class insurance
- 5 year BMW service inclusive (BSI)
- 3M car mats
- car cover
- chrome exhaust
- window tint (40%)

All these would be included at no extra cost in the purchase package. Is it possible to get similar add-ons with PML in Singapore? What is typical here?

Regards
Peter

That's my Hasselblad 205FCC with a 110mm FE lens and a Hasselblad CFV digital back. It's a lovely camera but a bit heavy...
