Hi Guys,

My 2 years old windows laptop suddenly went down today and I am looking for a replacement urgently. Have been eyeing on the Macbook Air 13" for the sleek design, light weight and stabability OS. Apple online keeps selling me to upgrade 8GB ram and telling me no reseller can sell you 8gb version in Singapore. Is 8GB really that neccessary? I have been using window laptop for the pass 15 years. So far 2gb RAM has been serving me happily. I do mostly office document editing, web surfing and sometime loading few MB photos and watch online video.

Any Macbook air owner can share your expereince?

Thanks.

Re: looking to buy Macbook Air 13"

I have a few months odl MacBook Air 13 with 128gb SSD and 4GB RAM running on Leopard. I am considering selling it for the new Macbook Pro. This laptop is only used for travelling. Other that that, its in my laptop bag.

PM me if you are interested. Adn you do not need 8GB RAM unless you are doing Video Encoding and batch photo editing of high res photos...

Using a windows ultrabook (samsung new series 8) , well, Mac are really nice to get. But if your apps do require windows , then you might want to consider the alternative, also, don't bother upgrading past 4gb , if you do need that kinda ram, then get a higher spec laptop instead

Re: looking to buy Macbook Air 13"

i'm using the mba 13" i7. I find the screen not as sharp as my macbook pro 15" that is 4 yr old. my eyes gets tired more easily if i need to do work on it.

otherwise no complaints, so light and portable that i bring it for my holidays. os stable and reasonable batt life. programs open more quickly with the SSD.

I can open quite a number programs that will still run smoothly with a 4Gb RAM. Don't do video editing or photo processing other than maintaining a huge iPhoto library on an external drive.

If you dont mind a heavier laptop and have bigger budget, consider the new mbp 15" with retina display.

I am using MBA with 4GB. More than enough for normal use.

:)

I got 50+ gb of Maria Ozawa on my external drive. She my #1 fan. Likely it's her entire carrerhood on my PC.
Macbook Air will vanish if I load my stuff into there. Not enough space plus will over heat and kaboom since she is sooooooooo hawt!
