Lots of N20/N26 engine having broken timing chain guide.

What is the typical cost of doing this in sg? Parts $$ and labour $$

Taking over a n20 and I think this hasnt been done. Would like to plan my finances in advance...

Cheers

quoted in excess of 3k all in to do it properly. 3 days down time at meta mechanics. Cheaper by about 1.2k if you skip the vanos sprockets

haven't been on here much due to work schedule but I managed to have the car sorted in terms of the timing chain and other small issues since the mechanic was digging around inside the engine. Mechanic pulled the engine as it was easier to work on the timing chain. Guess what? The old timing chain was still in ok condition. The guides are all brown but I didn't see any cracks on it. But its a good preventative measure as I can now drive the car as it should be driven. All in all cost me just under $1k to fix all in not including the parts. Befriended the mechanic and managed to strike a good deal with him.
