Ok fine, so signaling tends to encourage assholes behind to speed up and try closing the gap.

But... sorry to say and sad to know... if that alone makes it hard for you to change lanes, then your situational awareness and traffic management can be improved. In other words: maybe your driving sucks.

What happen during raining day when motorist (usually TAXI) used breakdown signal. Does it constitutes a traffic notice?

This is a classic ad hominem tu quoque argument.

Point one, you need to realise that there is no ambiguity in not signalling.

Point two, you can argue on the interpretation and the enforcement but it does not change point one.

an asshole today suddenly signalled and cut into my lane, missing my yaM5 by mere inches.

But LTA will give him an award for being a considerate driver and haul me to court for not keeping a safe distance

If signal lights were an optional feature, I am certain that some people in this thread would not pay for their signal lights. But they'll gladly pay for the m-tech body kit option.

There are alot of other stuff tat r illegal & can be fine. (eg: smoking while driving)

Its the mindset rather than the situation.

LTA can issue traffic violation summons meh ?
if you want to force the issue, you can seek legal advise and sue lta.

turn on hazard light while driving is the safest. can turn anywhere, drive slowly and hog.
no scare kana summon.
