I still could not believe that an M3 can crash like this (high speed - it could not be more than 120?!) If these drivers do not have skill to drive a BMW, better to get uncle's car from adjacent shop! lol
If these drivers do not have the skills to handle or tame a performance car, better stick to non-performance cars of any make. The road is not an arcade where u can bang on e wall right/left/center and continue to speed away.

Re: M3 crashes "left and right" in Dunearn Road tunnel

alot of M3, super car, parent buy car but without named their kids driver. very dangerous. good luck.
But again driver or passenger never die is lucky on any car crash.

i know of friend crashed, in hospital, open up the chest so the lung can breath and still died in 1 day.

Sad, case of sustaining too many internal injuries

Re: M3 crashes "left and right" in Dunearn Road tunnel

wondering if its a standard PI 320 coupe, how much less attention will it garner?

prob not a whole lot less cuz its still BMW?

Re: M3 crashes "left and right" in Dunearn Road tunnel

must be going high speed, don't know road uneven... slight airborne due to bad mods, landed whilst on the down slope, lose control, swerve right, swerve left, swerve right again, lose control and waabaam...

THE END...

mystery still unsolved, who does the car belong to? is it mineral white or frozen white? hmmm... inspector gadget please stand up...

Re: M3 crashes "left and right" in Dunearn Road tunnel

Can be tricky due to the bend and the kerb there ....

Re: M3 crashes "left and right" in Dunearn Road tunnel

at 2am ish...what's the upside to overtake till lost control like this?

Re: M3 crashes "left and right" in Dunearn Road tunnel

i think this is electronic nanny vs. panic driver
my theory is that during the high speed overtaking he flicked either left or right too much, panicked, he probably tried to counter and over compensated together with the e-nanny... so bam! left and then bam! right... or vice versa
if he was on manual mode or paddle shifting....it could be a case of too much torque on the rear wheel (at high rpm) steering him to the wall. e-nanny typically cuts in to compensate and straighten the car direction, too late for the first slam and he might have countered too much..and the second slam..

the latter happened to me once and i was saved by the e-nanny... mind you this is at road legal speed... it was silly me losing count on which DCT gearing i was on...phew!

Maybe during overtaking, saw a ghost standing infront of his lane... shocked and panic then bang bang bang bang.

Re: M3 crashes "left and right" in Dunearn Road tunnel

y is this such a big issue which requires a thread by itself? everyday there r accidents, last wk there was an ambulance in a drain... drive safe guys.

I thought my M insurance policy allows for "authorised" and not "named" drivers. So as long as the driver was driving with my authorisation, it is good enough?

Read the policy. Unnamed but authorised driver, still claimable but the excess is different... sometimes is huge big difference.

Re: M3 crashes "left and right" in Dunearn Road tunnel

There are 2 types of insurance policies that i have on 2 separate Cars.

M3 - Named Driver is 10k Deductible vs Non-named driver is 30k
Other car - Named Driver is 10k Deductible vs Non-Named Driver is you go pay yourself if he kanna accident.

Re: M3 crashes "left and right" in Dunearn Road tunnel

wah so many caveats nowadays!

Ya, I do find the bend there quite treacherous...
Or maybe I am just a kiasi driver...
