M3 DCT downshift throttle blips

hi guys, just wanna check with you guys.

car used automatically blip throttle while downshifting but recently stopped doing that. power and edc buttons also light up by default upon firing up engine (was off by default before).

any ideas why? can be adjusted via idrive toggle?

Which shift program u using? S3, S4, or S5? I believe rev matching happens only for S4 and above.

i drive around all the time in S3 and the rev match happens leh..

if no rev matching via throttle blips.. you will be jerked all over..
assume you are at 70 kph and you gas off, blip will be more pronounce going from 3rd to 2nd typically. 7 to 6 to 5 and 4 at the engine speed typically you are in are mild on rev matching so it is inconspicuous..

your default lite up on power n edc sounds like fault.

With regards to Power and EDC do take note that your settings via iDrive are saved specifically only the to Key fob that is inserted at the time those changes are made.

This means Key A will store info such as seat M1, M2, Radio stations, EDC, Power, DRL, water, oil temp and so on.

If you use Key B, it is likely that key will not have the same settings unless you had intentionally inserted Key B and made similar changes.

This happens if you incidentally switched between your spare and daily key.

As for Throttle blip, I was all along under the impression S3 and above blips the throttle during downshift. Tried S2 or S1, they do not throttle blip. I could be wrong as I did not test extensively.

I tried, the S3 didn't blip, more like engine brake...wtf..
Ok back to S4.

yup guys.. thks for the help.

haha yes, S3 doesn't blip. But manage to solve the power and edc lights coming on when i start up the car by resetting the M drive.
