There is a fine wire mesh infront of the MAF sensor. The job of the bugger is to trap large debris incase the air filter fails.

The other train of thought is that the mesh is to increase the laminar air flow (in short flow smoothly)

Personally, i do not subscribe to the second thought cos the air filter itself is a very good method of smoothing out air flow in the first place. So i just removed the screen. As for gains, i feel a slight improvement with a little better pull near red line.

i see.... any improvement in the low end power?? or izzit only to improve the high end? and where can i get it done?

Low end not much diff, high end is a little better. Dunno where you can do it cos i DIY.
