Michelin Pilot Super Sports for M3

Re: Michelin Pilot Super Sports for M3

I picked up Michelin PSS 245/35 & 265/35 from Top93 2 months back also! Prices definitely the best i've seen.

Didnt want to go the 275/35 for rears as was worried might upset the balance of the car with the slightly wider tyres, but wider tyres might help as on first and second gear, Rear Wheel still "perch" and breaks traction a little on the 265/35 setup.

Havent tried the 275/35 setup so if anybody bros here can comment on their experience would really appreciate it.

Re: Michelin Pilot Super Sports for M3

I think it depend more on the size of your rims. There are recommended sizes for certain widths. If I use 265-35 on my rears it will look quite stretch as I'm on CHR which is 10.5 inch wide. The stock ZCP rims are 10 inch and 265-35 will be a better fit.

Re: Michelin Pilot Super Sports for M3

I even seen people squeezing 295/30 on 10.5 inch wide rears which to me looks very funny. U know, the too much rubber look?

Not forgetting the replacement cost of 295 sized tyres as well........

No diff even on PSS 275/35R19. If will still spin up, chirp or squeal.

Re: Michelin Pilot Super Sports for M3

Haha I went back to top93 today to change my front 2 245-35-19 as well. Price too good to resist. Couldn't tahan front and rear different brand tires even though still got plenty of life.

Re: Michelin Pilot Super Sports for M3

if u wanna up rear to 275, do 255 in front also

295 sits well on 10.5 or 11 especially those round-ish shoulder tires such as Michelin, Conti and Pirelli

255 Fronts will it Rub?

255 front should fit well without rubbing but i think better suited if your rims are 9.5 inch.

Re: Michelin Pilot Super Sports for M3

your set of tires last only 8000km????
you doing drifting?
if you annual mileage is about 24000km, that means you change 3 sets of tires per year ?
my tires usually do about 30000km.

I have a rare genetic disease which makes my body deficient in certain rare elements found in high performance tires, so I consume them to stay alive.

Re: Michelin Pilot Super Sports for M3

Haha bro I agree. For me I feel if ur fuel consumption above 6km/l or tires last 30,000km means your not driving the car the way it was made to be driven.

When you can fit the tires optimally on to the given size, such as in this case 255 on 9J, then it's perfectly fine.
9.5 can fit fine too but that isn't necessary for that extra 0.5 resulting in increased weight and cost.

the old E60M5 had 255 on 8.5 and that's running fine too but too much flex in my opinion and i don't dig it.

tracked yet with those 255? should be sweet turn in with reduced understeer.
that will be my next size or even 265 front 275 rear and i can take turn 9 at F1 car speed...
