Michelle PS3

Re: Michelle PS3

I was told PS3 is not a direct replacement for PS2. PS3 apparently is a level below ps2, correct? Another new tyre from michelin will replace PS2.

Re: Michelle PS3

I am thinking of buying a new set of tyres soon. I think all those GY Asym sidewall crack is scaring the $hit out of me. Cant imagine if my tyres sidewall crack causing a blown tyre when you are on the NSH doing like 200kmh.

So brudders and hiadees, I think I had better spend a bit more with PS3(if it is PS2's replacement) or CSC5. Mi Ni Mai Ni Mi Ni Mo ???

Re: Michelle PS3

Just changed my rim to 18in and tires to PS3 today (225/40/18).

Never regret ... ride is more comfortable and extra grippy. Road feedback and response is fantastic. Noise level is silent on good road but a bit noisy on rough road. Body roll is much reduced due to lower profile.
(compare to my old 16in on Michelin Energy 205/55)

2 hours later did an emergency brake at CTE due to an accident 3 cars in front of me. Manage to break without incident....heng ah....might not made if still using the old tires.

Thanks dragon1188 may I ask hows the PS3 tyres after 7 months? ;)

Got a quote from a shop in Kaki Bukit today for 225/50/17 made-in-thailand for $320 per pc. Am abit worried about the country of origin but for this size do they have made-in-hungary ones anyone knows? And the price maybe? Quite convinced of this after watching the youtube video in this thread... :) Was actually looking at GR90 but this PS3 seemed much better in performance man!!

Appreciate any help thanks in advance!

Re: Michelle PS3

My tires are wearing out soon too but cant find any shop carrying PS3 for 19". Anyone knows which shop have them or there are just none for 19" in the market right now?

Re: Michelle PS3

Sorry, but question from a tyre newbie - is PS3 a direct replacement for PS2? How come so many comparison between the two?

Re: Michelle PS3

Michelin's fault for not informing public.
When it first came out, I thot so. But after hearing the prices plus the treads, I knew it wasn't.

Nx real replacment is the Mich Super Sport which is goin to be miles miles better than PS2 in dry performance.

Re: Michelle PS3

So it is not true that PS3 is better than PS2. PS3 is NOT an upgraded derivative of PS2, unlike AD08 and AD07, hence the comparison is wrong.

Which one is higher in performance rating?

Re: Michelle PS3

Shud be PS2
The cheaper price of the PS3 can't be better than PS2.....not saying Omega is less accurate than AP

Brother TripleM Michelin PS3 ref tyre is PS2 , and the test shown the improved version from PS2, i wont said is it a replcement tyre or not.
When they maket the tyre at more competitive price people get worry about quality
the in coming tyre is not Mic super cup:shoot:only heard of Pilot Sport Cup which is selling very well (street legal semi slick tyre).

Re: Michelle PS3

Not sure what you are trying to say...If u say the upcoming PSC then I am afraid I hv no clue bout such new semi slick DOT type of tires because at the moment there's only one type of Pilot Sport Cup and that's been ard for many years.

The only high perf tire that we all can anticipate is the Michelin Super Sport which is currently fitted on F599GTO

Re: Michelle PS3

yes, the Pilot sport cup(street legal semi slick tyre) already around for years and still selling very well mostly on Porsche.

Re: Michelle PS3

Robert - What is a "ref tyre"?

So it is not conclusive that PS3 is a replacement of PS2, and that PS3 should not be compared to PS2 at all?

Re: Michelle PS3

What I was told (by Michelin) when I went for their free tyre check @ a SPC service station was that the replacement for PS 2 would be "Super Pilot". There seems to be many variations about PS 3 as a replacement or a new product line ...

Whether I want to call the PS3 an upgrade or not, by just looking at the chart, PS3 is a better tire all round as compared to PS2 especially on the Wet performance and Tread wear. And was told PS3 is cheaper than PS2.
The only doubt is its country of manufacturing and the reliability, other than that its a no brainer choice.

i am not sure wether the PS3 replaced PS2(does it very import ?)
what i meant was the test result from Michelin is comparing PS3 against the PS2(ref tyre) .
It shown an improvement of PS3 (that is what we need)

Re: Michelle PS3

hi heydee
The ps3 doing great. It has logged 6k km. I like its stability while cornering and comfort n quietness. Wet performance these few weeks is great. Done 170kph during heavy rain at NS highway..handles well. Dry handling, no complaint.
The quote u got for 17in is very very ex...more than 18in ps3 in other shops I know. Shop around n try to get the hungary made instead of thailand.

Cheers.
