Microfilter to change or clean : E60

Anyone can provide advise on E60 microfilter as it is almost due for change. Think it is worth to have it change or get my mechanic to clean and put it back since I believe it is only dusts.

Any impact if jus cleaning?

I assume u are asking about air con micro filter?

How much mileage u got on them? PML told me to change out at 20000km but I got advice from BVO and some guys that not necessary to change so early.

If you really particular about quality of your air then just change it, not ex at all. And yes, PML charges more ex than the workshops. I can PM u on the pricing that I got if you are interested.

Thanks for the quick reply...not the air con filter..almost left remaining 200km. I believe it is the air microfilter. How would I be able to distinguish from I-Drive?

Yeah, same thing we are talking about.

Weird thing is my countdown for the micro filter in i-Drive disappeared after my 1 servicing in PML. Ah wee was also surprised when he was running thru my servicing page. Mine's a LCi. Did u have this problem?

Hi, Gusty. I'm was looking for the cabin air filter as well. There are two pieces that needed to replace, right, and they are located next to the windscreen wipers?
I think there are 2 types - normal filter and one with charcoal filter. Which one is PML selling and how much? How much other workshops are selling and are the same part no.?

Changed mine at 50,000km vehicle check and iDrive indicates 160,000km to go till next change. So probably only change twice during the car's 10 COE life.

Thanks for your info. Sort of weird that the indicator "disappears" after hitting 0 km after starting the car twice.

As long as there is smelly smell should be fine for now.

the air con filter aka microfilter needs to be changed about 70 000 -80 000 km once....

its cheap..i think 50-80 bucks.... just go to BVO.... its 15min job

I paid $60 for the charcoal activated filter exclude GST from Eng Soon, should be able to get it nett $60 with GST, have to bargain a bit, but I am lazy. The normal filter cost $45 per pair. Change it myself, pretty simple, just follow the video
