Minor roof dent repair

Hi everyone,

I just noticed a small dimple on my roof, probably caused by parking unsheltered and getting hit by something.

Do you guys know if it can be fixed by Paintless Dent Removal? I also heard some places can do "suction" to repair the dimple. Do you know the rough costs?

Would be grateful for any views!

Re: Minor roof dent repair

if the dent is too concave, u hv to patch and respray. i approached paintless dent removal, but they can only do very slight dimple.

Re: Minor roof dent repair

U can try Lye Design (Ah Lye) for minor roof dents.

They will use a glue that adheres a suction-like plug to the dented surface and a seperate tool to extrude the surface. The cost is slightly higher than usual dents - but I can't remember the extract cost.

Puny and One-Two:

Thanks for your replies. The dimple is very slight, and only visible if I look a it under light. Will try both Lye Design and PDR and see which is cheaper.

Thanks!

Re: Minor roof dent repair

I had a small dent (10 cents coin) on the roof caused by a falling branch during a thunderstorm. I took my car to PDR and they fixed it in 5 minutes. The location of the dent was about 8 inches away from the driver front door on the roof. The PDR guy simply removed the rubber lining holding the internal roof fabric at the door and inserted the tool from there. He massaged it and presto - it is gone. I was worried at first, when he pulled the rubber lining, whether it will be easy to fix back - however, no problem at all. I had another ding on my door that was removed too - total damage - $50.

Geetee - Thanks! I think I'll clear the car of all the dings and dimples at PDR in one shot, just in time for Xmas. :)
