Mods and mods- The outcome!

Re: Mods and mods- The outcome!

For me, is the bodykit and the pulley........:)

Cheers!

Re: Mods and mods- The outcome!

My Best Mod is UUC ARB :)

Cheers :)

Re: Mods and mods- The outcome!

my bloody worst mod in my opinion are the angel eyes!!! haha. Felt it totally did nothing! i had to spent extra to replace the fog lights and high beam bulb to white lights just to compliment the white lights theme. and worst of all, the angel eyes made my xenons look inferior.....urgh.....

Re: Mods and mods- The outcome!

For me, fav mod is the BBK but its something that needs a lot of homework - worry about rims clearance & whether need to get spacers.

Next is UUC Anti Roll Bars - big improvement on handling

Less happy is exhaust muffler mod - Dun feel the gains.

Re: Mods and mods- The outcome!

my fav is my ACS exhaust... its loud and boomy but that's just the way i like it. got praised for it at the traffic lights within an hour of driving off from PML workshop. BBRRROooooooooMM!!

May i ask hw much u pay for the ACS exhuast at PML and hw long? ThkS~

Re: Mods and mods- The outcome!

Best mod.....

my CSL rims !!

OT - To Pak Jack .....did Broquet/Spark plugs/Tornado spark cables/K+N - installed all at one go - so cannot tell which one contribute the best bang for the buck ( in my Tucson )... the car seems to have lost 200 kgs moving off from traffic light and fuel consumption better !!

waiting for the Tucson front BBK to arrive - existing brakes like sponge !!. Will keep you posted

just got my exhaust installed a few days ago. but i see from your sig, u have an E46? i don't think the price for Z4 and E46 is the same. perhaps you can use the forum search function? i recall someone posted the price of ACS for an E46 sometime back.

YES I do have a mod that I really regret.... That mod would be the Hi-Op ECU reflash.... Totally waste of money and it actually decreased my bhp rating...... So sad.......
But you got something else much better in the end right? The DMS reflash. Now thats a very good mod too.

Worst - HI-OP ECU re-flash in the M3 - great hp surge initially but driveability suffers.....in and out of workshop - "to detune" it....now I am not sure if the program is still in or not !!

That's great...
I think I shud do something bout that Tucson too...it's a bit lethargic sometimes.
BBK on Tucson should be the first one in the world hahah...
Congrats

I assume u did all those at J4C yeah...

Re: Mods and mods- The outcome!

Best mod and worst mod is BBK. Better feel, better modulation on the track for cadence brake. Better initial bite but same braking distance. Race pads do not bite from cold and need to warm them up before driving hard. BBKs didn't fit rims, had to get new rims and eventually spacers and nuts. Cross-drilled rotors eventually cracked and replaced with slotted but slotted rotors have terrible cold bite.

2nd best and 2nd worst mod is exhaust. Remus box with custom stainless steel downpipes on stock headers. Makes nice sound. It is good to have nice loud exhaust in a flashy car. It is bad to have to drive that flashy car with nice loud exhaust.

Hear your frustrations..
But of coz u can't compare the performance of race pads vs street pads with regard to the type of disc rotors.

My street pads on my StopTech's slotted rotors have superb torque bite even when cold. Very impressed with it.
For race pads,....any type of rotors don't work anyway during cold. Hence a need to quickly remove them after coming back from a track session else it's goin to eat up your rotors during normal street driving....ouch...

While cross-drilled rotors can crack after heavy usage, it still gives the best heat dissipation and slight unsprung weight advantage..
Having said that, I would personally not go for it coz it's a bit more expensive than slotted ones which have a much better bite and also quieter.

Re: Mods and mods- The outcome!

never regret anything i did on my ride so far.. anyhow not much thing i can do too!

-UUC pulleys were great!
-Cyberspeed CAI improves my ride at mid range onwards. Cheapest CAI available!!
-Many mentioned ecotek sucks but did not affect my ride at all and did have fuel savings on normal driving condition.
-Obit gen1 improves my ride's response.
-Breyton lowering spring even did not reduce the height by 30mm but m happy with 18mm.. kekekekek
-Breyton spirit 20" rims.... Beautiful!!.. tinking of spraying to black.. hahahahah
-AC exhaust ..... sounds wonderful!!
- other small mods.... Happy!!!!

so still happy!!

May i ask did the pulleys make a diff in performance esp pickup? Hw abt ecotek too? Thks as i'm considering these mods

Nope, pulleys did not help on my pickup.. did the workshop tells you it will? Same for ecotek bro..... What is your ride?

When my UUC pulleys are installed, can feel gear change smoother instantly.. one of the best mod i done on my ride!! Ecotek accordingly should reduce fuel consumption.. it did but rather marginal...

My take is : UUC pulley 10 out of 10,
Ecotek 5.5 out of 10..

Hope it helps..

Anyone want to add their experience on this two mod do comment..
