MRT Mission - Past & Present

Re: MRT Mission - Past & Present

England was in a situation when thatcher made the move for privatization ..... Now it's used for all kinds of excuses.

certain parts of a country's infrastructure shud never b privatized. ie utilities n transportation.
This I agree, some are already owned by foreign entities.

In times of conflict, tension or war (pray not), these private entities pack up and leave...wtf then? Start to scramble to get these installations manned... could be too little too late.

Re: MRT Mission - Past & Present

can anyone tell me why SMRT trains n rails always got technical problems, but ERP gantries i believe have never/hardly ever failed?

Re: MRT Mission - Past & Present

anyway our kind of privatization is horseshitt. mrt is private but govt own. LPPL.....at best its a weak shield in terms of crisis.

I won't be surprised if more public funds are spent on ERP gantries and their maintenance, than the train system. Or road maintenance, for that matter.

Cheerssss.....

Re: MRT Mission - Past & Present

Anyway, fare increase is PTC's fault.

Bro, allow me to say fare increase not enough to cover cost of maintaining the MRT system, also PTC's fault.

If the powers that be wish to commercialize the services, do it the right way and let the commercial entities be it SMRT or SBS charge enough to cover expenses; if they want to decide fares, then review the whole system properly and let the public system subsidise it properly.

Half-naked ideas don't work, we've seen too many of that already with all that screwing with the COE system.
