Do what my friend is still doing...his car has 9 outstanding summon against it...and cost over 1K odd.
Print out the list of outstanding summon....go to LTA and ask them to issue you with a proof that you are the owner after the offence date.
Keep this letter in your car when you go across the causeway and if you happen to be stopped, show them the LTA letter.
A bit hassle...but so far my friend has no issue with the Polis there yet. They will stop you...but after checking, they will let you thru.
The best solution is to approach the used car dealer that you bought the car from and ask them to settle the matter with the previous owner. Then have a copy of the payout in your car as proof of payment.
A tip for everyone.
When you buy a used car, get the dealer to give you a black and white that the car is summon free. If there is outstanding against it, they must be liabile to clear the summon for you.
Although SG is quite ok...cos when the transfer is done, the summon automatically follows the ex owner. But just take the b/w as well from the dealer.
