Just sharing my updated maintenance experience after 8.5 years and still enjoying it
Now at 104,000km - Non Turbo but a great Natural aspirated engine!
I change at the following km for 6 cylinder inline n52 non turbo 2.5, 2011 model las of the e90
No leaks, no oil disappearing
Idle is good at 680rpm no aircon and 720rpm aircon on, smooth power
Oil leaks are mainly below
Oil missing Culprits are
1. Oil filter housing area gaskets - every 50,000km
2. Valve cover gaskets every 60,000km - comes with built-in PCV valve, built-in valve cover replaced at 60,000km and PCV HOSE
3. Oil sump gasket leak - 80,000km
Rear crank seal - every 80,000km – Done, was causing whistling NOISE, PCV was fine
Front crank seal - every 120,000km – Not Done – planning to do soon
Valve stem seal - every 120,000km - Not Done – planning to do soon
Other changes most done for preventive purpose mainly & some planned for later
Alternator 60,000km but did not fail
Starter motor - 50,000km but did not fail
Idler pulley and tensioner & belt - 50,000km
Brakes pads at 40,000km
Radiator small leak 80,000km
Water Expansion tank exploded - 80,000km – replaced 50 bucks
Oxygen sensors - 70,000km for smoother ride
ATF cooler 80,000km but did not fail – prevent damage to Gearbox and Autobox Solenoids
ATF fluids every 40,000km for Long life - regular
Gearbox trans seal sleeve & adapter 60,000km and at 100,000km - done for smooth gear change
Oil change every 7,000km
Spark plugs and coils - 50,000km and 100,000km done
Fuel pump & filter regulator -100,000km plan
Brake Rotors - 70,000km
Shock/Struts - 60,000km but did not fail and replaced again with Bilstein B4 for comfort at 100,000km
Differential oil change 40,000km – need to do soon at 100,000 missed
Front wheel bearing - 70,000km but did not fail
Add M3 Front Control arms front - 50,000km
Replaced Rear Control Arms – 80,000km
Guibo - 70,000km but did not fail
Center shaft bearing - 70,000km but did not fail
Engine and transmission mount - 50,000
Small DISA motors - 80,000 small one was failing – Large Disa replaced at 100,000km but did not fail preventive
Aircon compressor - 100,000km replaced did not fail.
Aircon Blower 80,000km but did not fail
Water pump and thermostat and hoses 80,000km done preventive. but did not fail
Fuel Filter – 90,000km… did not fail
Fuel Pump – plan to replace at 120,000km
Intake Manifold gaskets – 100,000km done
Intake Booth – 90,000 done
Aircon Blower – 80,000km – refresh
Radiator – 90,000km - refresh
Sensors changed preventive but none had failed
MAF sensor - 80,000km
Map sensor (pressure) - 70,000km
Crankshaft sensor - 70,000km
Camshaft sensor - 60,000km
Eccentric shaft sensor - 40,000km
2 Vanos solenoids - 50,000km
Temperature sensor - 70,000km
4 Oxygen sensors - 70,000km
Oil pressure sensor - 80,000km
Timing chain tensioner - 80,000km
Wheel speed sensor - 60,000km
