Regarding asking them not to wash your car, I'm not sure what to suggest to you to ensure that they DON'T do it. Last time I had a friend who even printed out A4 size paper with big big font saying don't wash his car and put one each of the paper on his dash and on his rear panel, visible from the front and rear windscreens, and THEY STILL WASH IT!!

Hi ! Brother.

May be they don't know how to read English :(
How about writing in 4 different languages? Ha Ha :)

If they scratch your car, make them polish it. I got a free polish the other time FOC.

Hi ! Rodders.

Regarding window units, I have read from this forum many E46 will face this problem.

My car is 2.5 year old and so far so good because I hardly used the power window. Even for the driver side window, I prefer to open the car door to insert cash card, reason ticket etc (I started having this habit after hearing so many bad experience of window stop half way).

I will put in the request and ask PML to check all windows just for record purpose :) Hopefully, these window don't fail after the warranty over :(

Thanks for all the advices :)
Ben.
hey ben,

the power window is very prone to failure due to the design. If you hear any noise in any window while winding up or down, get it replace immediately. I had all 4 windows motor replaced under warranty.

Even if you do not use the window regularly, it will still fail because the windows are stuck in the windows seal after not opening for a long time. When you open the window, you will hear a noise like the windows is tearing open the seal, that is where your motor's parts start to break!

Hi ! AC Boy.

Eer....Gear box oil, my car mileage only 40,000KM, I don't think PML will change the gear box oil during Inspection I right?

Correct me if I am wrong :)

Thanks :)
Ben, am not too sure if pml changes it during this session. Although my car is under warranty, I'll change engine oil every 8 to 10k km & gear box oil at 25k km or so. I'm on manual 3/4 of the time.

Btw, I service my car outside, only went back to pml twice so far, despite bringing my own engine oil, as usual kena sucked blood on both occasions just to keep the 'agent maintained' record.

Inspection 1 for an E46 325 at AB Glenmarie(KL), the charges will be about less then RM1K.. mmm about SD400..

Re: My car is due for service (Inspection I)

Ben,

Did my Inspection1 in May. Bill came to $394.
- BMW Inspection1, replace engine oil, brake fluid, power steering oil, oil flter element, washer additives & change aircon microfilter

I commented "high fuel consumption" & "no power lei". Apparently, they did some checks & went ahead to change some parts under warranty on their own - fuel pump, air hose, some kind of engine gasket, side mirror motors etc. The list was 2 pages long.

So i don't get the impression that PML is trying to get out of honouring the warrantly issue in most cases, for the items above are non wear & tear items. Washing the exterior of the car is optional, but i got them to vacuum the insides - very clean.

Hi ! Leon (NightHawk).

Wow ! PML changed so many things for you under warranty :) Your car must be as good as new now :)

I will try my luck and do the same.

Thank you so much for all the advices.

You guys rocks :)
