My comments on my 2 weeks F30 328i

Greeting to all,

I use to own a 2010 A4 2.0TFSI and 2002 Benz C200.
Having collected my new ride for 2weeks i would like to give my 2cents comments on my new car;

1. Perfect ZF 8 speed transmission, seamless shift at town or highway driving, gear ratio is impressive (at 8th gear, 59kmh per 1000rpm). Cant wait to crusie at NSHW.
2. Steering feel is light but direct. Experince slight vibration during parking, but that happen once only
3. Engine noise level is high during warm up but is acceptable after normal engine temperuture. Considering 18inch 245/45, tire noise is acceptable. Sound insulation is consider good at its class (i had only tried 120hph so far).
4. Handling is perfect (as a RWD, dont compare it with FWD)
5. durability yet to know ( touch wood, hopefully nothing happen)

In actual facts, i had test driven the C200 (C250 not available at time of test drive) before deciding for the F30 328i. If you ask me whether i will make the same choice of 251800 (231800 after overtrade), the answer is YES. Just a individual view.

Welcome & great to know you like yur ride.

Im currently driving e replacement car (F30 320i) **super long story on my E90**

My feel :

1. Transmission - okie but low end same a E90 6speed. struggles at low end range.
2. Steering - sucks! like toyota & best of all reverse sensor dont switch off after engage P!
3. Engine noise level - like taxi!
4. Sound insulation - Sucks! My E90 better. (Now i know why some complain about it)
5. Handling - Sucks! No sheer driving pleasure. 50-50 is there but sibei soft & tofu.
6. Seat - uncomfortable.

I hate the start/stop function for the engine! (Can be switch off ) Seriously dont understand this.. NEW idrives cool but certain features are crap. Pick up is good & power & tats about the plus as compares with E90. I will recon to get e Msport package for those who is looking at F30 320i / 328i .

did you feel the 8 speed adjusting to your driving style or vice versa?

congrats la most impt 2 weeks liao you still like your car rather than vice versa.

you going to post your "super long story" in the infamous "deplorable" thread?

with electric steering wheel now can do buddha palm one hand 360-degree parking/turning liao

It is common for DI engine lah. Check Mini Cooper S. Same same.

In fact, N46 also sound like that.

Tat is how i felt & compare with E90 320i (normal not Msport)

Perhaps 328i feel is better off.

Im refering to tiak tiak sound..

F30 very loud (same as a sonata taxi) Dont have to pop bonnet to hear it.
E90 softer pop bonnet then can hear it louder.

If u r talking about engine note, it is the same tiak tiak sound lah.

Tested both F30 328i and 320i.
On full throttle, the 320i engine seems more quiet, sounds sweeter and slightly smoother than the 328i.
Anyone observered the same or not??

It will adjust to my driving style and usually I am in comfort mode as I am still running in. Compare to my previous ride which is 7speed stronic the 8Speed is very smooth
