My E60 Bluetooth Module DIED...

For those who remember, few months back I was asking in this forum on advice for intermittent Bluetooth connection to my iPhone. Well... 2 days back, the module is dead. I have not have any connection for the past 2 days.

Question, if I bring back to PML do they do it for free as my car is still under extended warranty? Do I go PML or MA? Which is better?

Hi , I have the same problem . If car still under warranty go back to Pml . Free of charge for parts replacement or trouble shooting . Possible ask them to change engine oil and pay for the small charges . I understand that you have to leave your car for 2 days as they need to sync for you . If you have any other problem from your car please voice out before your warranty expire ...!

What engine oil do you use for the bluetooth? Half litre?

2 days to sync BT? I can backup my whole corporation's AS400 data several times over in the 2 days!!!

Yeah. 2 mths wait for a servicing slot was what I experienced with another German mass market car manufacturer.

Well , that was what happen to my car when I send in my car for engine oil changed ..!! At the same time i tell them my bluetooth problem . Well , you can send in your car just for Bluetooth sync and see what they say ..!! I had my car in the workshop for many job done ...complaining them about noise from the engine mounting , engine pick problem ..! Well I have a long list of replacement parts from them at FOC . They charge me for engine oil and air filter ...total $500 plus . The rest of the parts FOC . ( well before I send my car for servicing they told me Bluetooth sync have to leave the car there and pick up the next day ).
The rest of the servicing and testing took me 3 working days to complete the whole job since is cover by warranty . Drive in your car and tell the advisor and see what he say .

Fyi, got my Bluetooth module settled! And the screeching noise on my right front wheel when braking was also done.

Hi, just checking, do ALL E60 comes with the Bluetooth module?

Just got a pre-owned E60, and have the TALK and BLUETOOTH button on the steering wheel but like no function...

I think it is not for pre lci.

My E60 530 2006 pre facelift has the BT module. It's intermittent too, the connection. I believe it's a common problem across many BMWs - http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=581569
