Today I was idling in my ride, then I heard on 2 occasions an alarm coming from my steering wheels area...I tot I dropped a watch in my car, but didn't find any....

Could it be a time bomb????

No alert in my Idrive leh...

If it's a Time Bomb... would u be here posting?
What does dropping a watch got to do with alarm going off? U boosting to us ur ride has Artificial Intelligence whom will warn u when u drop something? :lol2:

Anyway, were u on neutral w/o handbrake on? 'Alarm' does go off.. for my model at least.

Haha. No lah...I was thinking it may hv been a stopwatch or watch with alarm,etc...

Seriously, i checked a second time, seemed like the beep.beep.beep.beeeeeeeep sounds emitted from the speaker system...like the seat belt alert...

Still couldn't figure out the source .

Bro, its the Alarm Memo setting found in idrive, can be set to off.

Its a hourly reminder(alarm)...

Bro, I had the same problem as you except that mine was my handphone. I dropped it onto the mat and I stretched my posture to pick it. Alarm sounded off when seat belt was fastened and gearbox in D while foot brake was stepped., car was stationary.

Later, I found out it was due to my butt was off the seat weight sensor and had caused the alarm to sound off. The car was probably in a state of confusion as it detected the driver was not sitting properly or there was missing driver and sounded off to warn the occupants. A good safety feature there. I hope this is the same feature in all models.

Hope this cleared your doubt. Take care.

Thank you brother!you are spot on!that day I itchy backside, clicked the Hourly Memo option ON! Now everything back to normal.....

Seriously, I wonder what purpose of this alert, to prevent fatigue due to driving by reminding the driver to rest at intervals??
