aiyah, not gearing ratio la. i must ve been wrong. dave said to me like if i m cruising, e original set up would be to change gears at (eg) 2200rpm, but due to fuel savings, it ll change at (eg) 2000rpm instead; smeting like tis.

paiseh i m not a technical person.

but one thing i gotta share here...............

since gotten my e60 for e past 6wks, i've been clocking 8 to 8.3km/l of petrol everytime e tank s empty when i reach e kiosk.

but yesterday when i reach his place, my petrol level was 1/4 used off, n e OBC reads 8.2km/l. after reloading e new software, having drove till jus slightly below e middle mark, it reads 9.1km/l. journey patterns r similar, as it was a normal work day/journey 4 me. i jus parked my car, n i still feel tat "lighter" throttle. :)

anyway, i gotta state tat i m in no way related to OBD-Tuning n its owner Dave. no commercial interest here too. i paid my sums, w receipt too. jus tat i tot tis upgrade would be nice to share here, esp for bimeer owners would jus wan light touches to their cars.

for my car, i ve changed e air filter, n now tis OBD-thingy. e last thing tat i m waiting for, s a nice pair of exos, like remus. obviously not forgetting tat i still got another mth to wait for my beloved rims.

cheers to all!
wow thats nice. must have been becos of the leaner a/f

hi all,

i took time 2 write tis brief write-up, mainly s 2 say tks to Dave Naidu (owner/tuner of OBD), to self-answer many queries abt tis tuning, and lastly, to feedback on e outcome.

pls note tat i m in no way related to OBD-Tuning, n no other commericial interst too. but jus 2 say w interested readers..........

i arrived at his place, 21 marsiling ind rd 9, at 1355hrs. saw dave coming out of his black GT3. we greeted n walked into his office. i told him, b4 anyting s 2 be started, i need a 10-min session of Q & A. wat impressed me was his convincing explaination of e way our ECU behaves; esp when i tot tat ours was in a way- self learning. yes, its self-learing based on our driving styles. but e nature of his product was: it s meant to improved (or extend to e most tolerrance levels )our factory-set parameters; obviously not meant to "over-do" e tuning n ultimately cause damaged to our engines. b4 dave could go deeper into e techinicalities, i stopped him n gladly asked him 2 proceed.

his handheld gadget was plugged into my OBD port, n it shows tat it needs 59mins to read...... thus displaying "reading......" during tis 59mins, we chatted abt tracking, handling set-ups, showing me his souped-up GT3, n of course showing me his office whiteboard tat since his biz started in june, there were alr 52 cars on his board. i was surprised tat BMWs stands 60% of his customers, other than e other continental makes like merc, fiat, audi, etc.... during tis time, i aso witness tat he got another appt to do-up a bimeer 630 tomolo at 2pm.

it was 1520hrs, n e handheld port was done! it was unplugged n i was on my way to work; nearby too.

at 1655hrs, i received a sms from dave: yr ecu s ready. i rushed there w much anxiety.... it took a mere 20mins to get e "improved" parameters loaded into my car. he started e engine, n stepped on 4 a few full revs (till almost redline at PARK position; which s unable w our stock ECU). more chats, paid up, shake hands, n goodbye.

jus turned out of his building, turn left turn right, even didnt leave tat industrial compund yet, i dialed his number...... cos i knew tis s wat i wanted, n didnt expect 2 get it jus like tat! i thank him again, n enjoyed my journey......

feedback: it really feels lighter to drive off, not butt feel! overtaking was indeed a breeze too. as everyone know tat at 1745hrs on SLE, it s a drive n slow-down situation........ it was much easier to drive, considering e fact tat i use tat rd twice a day. stopped at e lights at targore junction. once green, i floored off! n indeed, it was much more satisfying than few hrs ago.

i paid a slightly over $1000, plus i was advised tat in any case PML reset my ecu, i can always go back 2 get it re-read FOC.

dave s a nice man who not only explains well, but aso a hands-on professional.

do give tis product a consideration, n i (as a bimeer owner) assure u tat u ll feel different after e "cleverer" readings r loaded in.

cheers to Dave @ OBD-Tuning.8)

u may wanna reach him @ 8180-8008.

Re: My session w OBD-Tuning

Anybody else have recent experience to share about OBD Tuning or other types of re-mapping?

Re: My session w OBD-Tuning

Kudos! to Dave....
Last week he came by to my office to collect data's for my E60.... reason because my car was due for a 3 years inspection at Performance.... (I did not want to touch the car in anyway...)

Yesterday he was here loading up the new setting for my car....

Only 3 letters! W-O-W!
A great different, I feel the car feeling lighter... more Ommmm feeling, dont know the technical terms but simply more ......POWER*!
*Note I am on 20" mega rims....

Damn! it is like magic.....

Service from Dave is great! Comes all the way to your Car park and does his Magic and wala!
Done deal.... no need to travel all the way to the workshop.... did it just at the basement car park!

For the priced I paid, service i get and not forgetting the the extra boost from my Bimmer! All worth it...
