N54 HPFP recall & BMW Asia & PML

Seems I've been hit with the dreaded hpfp issue on my N54 engine

My car's been off PML warranty for about 2 months now.

Anyone know if the recall is applicable for Singapore as well or only for the USA/Canada etc?

Anyone have any advice?

Just a suggestion, maybe can talk to PML to get it done for u free since its a known issue and ur car is juz out of warranty by 2 months.

did u have hpfp issue before warranty expired? or this is your first time? if former, perhaps got better chance since there is track record...

Hi Stefman. What was your mileage when you got the poison? What symptoms did you get before you conclude that you got it?

My car has 31K KM, a bit of long cranking at startup but didn't seem serious. The real problem is when I would accelerate the "reduced power....." message would go on and the car would feel like no power. After turn off the engine, all back to normal until accelerate a bit hard and get the message again.

PML replaced it under warranty...phew!

So, PML honoured your warranty even though it has just passed? Congratulations. It seems the problem only surfaces on close to the 3rd year in Singapore's context. Mine's on 11000km. Will have to be vigilant starting next year.
