Need Advice on Window Tinting

i'm thinking of doing Window Tinting on my E90.

i am confuse with so many brands & shops out there. everyone say their's is the best. , i am sure there must be some diff ?

looking for trouble free installation & good workmenship. price as long as reasonable.

any advice guys ?

I have Thermalguard on my previosu black-black alpha 156. Hate to admit it, but it is a waste of money. And it was not cheap at all. $850!

To play safe, I am thinking of V-kool and Huper Optics.

Anybody knows of good package, particularly v-kool?

Just did V-kool premier for my e90 last month. I must say the heat rejection is good.Only thing is they need to make a small cut at the IU.

A word of caution:Some carpark transponders may not detect after installation of v-kool. I had 2 transponders. The one for my home cannot detect after v-kool installtion but the one for my office works alright. In the end had to go back to have a small hole cut at the area I place my home transponder. Works perfectly now.

So my advise is if you want to avoid the small cuts of the film then you will have to take the lower range of V-kool or other brands. The cuts are not very obvious but you can see if u look close enough.

Where are you doing yours? I did mine at the VKool Telok Kurau Rd branch sometime last year. I've been happy with the workmanship

me doing it at tintsy cool, kaki bukit. well my guess they are all about the same it is only the workmanship that is diff.

any feedback on tintsy cool ? guys

i did some research. i was quote $1200 for the top grade when I called in. And through some contact, I was able to get pretty substantial discount. That is for the premiere grade, which is not possible for E90.
We have to get film that allow more light transmission through the front in order to pass LTA.

I did my v-kool UV70 at Ubi, basement of Fiat showroom, workmanship not bad...paid ard $9xx after discount, if I'm not wrong.

But a friend of mine did Lex-tint, value for money...ard $3xx for his E90.

Think the quoted price for premier is abt $1200, so $900 is not bad, although personally, the only time my car is parked under the sun is saturday and sunday afternoon, no more than 24 hrs a week!
SO, I am quite reluctant to pay more than $500.

same here my car will under the sun only on SAT, SUN, P.hoilday, School Hoilday, days that i'am on leave etc.

looks like window tinting are more for looks only. well maybe got some effect on the sun screening part. don't flame me.

oh yes also prevent window from shattered
