Need Help. Buying 2nd Hand BMW 316i

Hi

New to this space here and would like to seek for some advice.

I am planning to get a 2-3 years old BMW 316i. I got a few queries with regards to 2nd hand dealer

1. Will 2nd car dealers provide warranty and servicing?
2. Do I need to ask for the service records to show that previous car had been serviced in PML?
3. How will I know if I bought the car which is previously bought through a PI or PML? Does it make a difference?

If there are other things that I should consider, do let me know too. Thank you.

Hope this will be helpful for you.

1. If you are purchasing from a dealer, you will be protected by lemon law, which allows you to claim damages from your deal for your vehicle's gearbox and engine issues.
   
2. You can ask, but most dealers won't try to get as PML is a pain in the behind to deal with as they require proof of ownership before releasing service records.
3. Specs will be different - some PI may be of a high spec, others lower - so long as you are comfortable and happy with the car, then just go for it.

Also, if the car is under 3 years as you mentioned, it should still be covered by PML warranty if it was purchased from PML.
