Hi all in SP
I need your help!!!!
we just bought a fab 2002 520iA e39 that was imported from SP, just getting used to all the extras and finding out what everything is for but have run into a problem......went to the car this morning and on entering the car the aux ventilation system came on and was blowing air to the footwell.
no timers were set so it seems to have kicked in of its own accord. The climate control is un responsive and has no lights on. took it for a drive and got roasted by the air coming in once the engin warmed up. On stopping the car and switching off the engine the blower remained on and started cooling after a period, but once started again the heat returned. after locking up the car the blower still remained on for about 15 mins..... looked in the manual and the obc manual and took all the suggested steps but nothing stoped it... this continued for over 2 hours and the the battery died..I feel there is no point in jump starting the car until Iknow how to fix this problem as the battery might just die again... the garage we got the car from are off now till monday morning...
plz help

Suggest you search for "Final Stage Resistor" or "Final Stage Unit". It's a rather common issue with E39/E46 of around 4-5 years.

Thanks, and good luck.

BTW - Dublin is a beautiful city!
