Hey guys, which would be the better choice? My mum's looking for a new car and BMW's her choice after she sold her lexus.. Went to Alexandra to view and she's eyeing the 330Ci Cabrio while i prefer the Z4 anyday... Can't decide so would like to ask you guys wats the difference between the two cars, power wise & drivibility.. would appreciate any comments thanks

I wld go for the Z4 and mod it like Remy's ride. Coz the e46 330cic is an out-going model with the new shape (e90) coming in mebbe 1.5 - 2 yrs time. But if she has to ferry more than 1 passenger often, then she will need the 4 seater 330cic lor. Either way, they are excellent cars.

Why dun u pop by this Sunday Meetup and have at look at fellow bros cars... Unfortunately Remy is nt in town.. and dun noe Geoff Ang be there or nt (cos both are Z4)... 330 Cabrio can talk to Alvin666.. he shld be there. Cheers!

Hi Reisa, unless you're in a hurry, I would wait, the Z4 might get the new R6 3.0L with 258 horses! If you have to buy soon, I'll still got with the Z4 since it is the newer car and the 330cic will be old very soon. These days, the car companies are coming out much more quickly with cabs after the hardtop is out. Just look at the 6series, barely after the tin top was out, the cab followed.
I was at PML today, and they already have the 630i Cab...list is $310K, after discounts, it should be less than $300K. If you can squeeze out a few more dollars, that will be the one to go for!

Eventually, your mom is buying it right?.. so you're sharing with her??.. better see if she wants a 2 or 4 seater 1st... both are very good cars, so ... ask your mom which she'd rather prefer ya?. im pretty sure you'd enjoy any of the 2. see you this sun dude.

im pretty sure you'd enjoy any of the 2. see you this sun dude.Hehe 6 series is a definite no-no.. yeah quite true 330 is a outgoing model.. but its 4 seater thats why it appeals to her + its a cab. but i prefer the sporty look of the Z4 and 2 seater cab. tats style i would say to me. always like 2 seater cabs. since i was much younger hehe..

hi hi reisa... n greeting to all from Qatar!!! Go for the Z4 cause it handles better than the 330... but of course the ride is not as comfortable as 330 .....as the model says..roadster!!! so u will feel every single hump or uneveness on the road....hope to see u with ur Z soon....me n geoff needs more Z4 buddy!!!

yeah..guess u saw me.. the white type R is mine.. sorry to interupt your meetup... was taking a look at the various models on show earlier so turned a few rounds hehe.... hope u guys didn't mind.. saw the 4 evo 8s and the black 645, some cabrios and also th silver z4 and some z3s.. wow i mus say its not often u get to see all the cars at the same place n same time nice meetup u guys had there....

Get the Z4 only if you can live with a two seater. Since you have other cars in the stable, the Z4 shouldn't be that hard to live with right?
The shape of the Z4 won't be changing for the next 5-6 years. At least the Z3 hung around for 8 years. If you get the 330ci, it will look dated once the new 3 hits the streets, which is soon. Also, the Z4 looks different from other cars on the street. Especially the long bonnet. A 3 series, whether coupe, cabrio, sedan or M3 will always be just another 3 series; another conventional car. In the Z4, people always take a second look at the car.
Having said that, the Z4 can be troublesome sometimes. Like if i need to ferry more people, I'll have to go home to change cars. Can't do bulky shopping too. Although my mom did suggest that I go buy bamboo poles for laundry because I can drop the top and place the poles in the passenger area. 8) We can't decide for you so you will have to make the choice based on your lifestyle. I'm fine with a 2 seater as an everyday car because I drive in a "spirited" manner all the time and don't have many people to fetch. It's also a good excuse when it comes to not sending people home. "Sorry, 1 pax only". :wavey:
