Re: New car - Polish

Me, lazy SOB! Asked my maid 2 wash d ride. End up sctraches all over the place. like kena rape lah! serve me right! Got 2 learn 2 DIY now. Come 2 think of it, I may not b alone have this issue. Just wondering is there any previous thread cover the standard instructions/procedure/guideline in Car Washing? Pls advice Cheers!

Re: New car - Polish

washing is one thing... waxing and applying sealant regularly is also something that u might wanna consider to protect the paintwork in the long run. once u have a layer of wax and/or sealant (which i rather leave to the pros), washing is pretty ez. just need a piece of wet cloth, stains should come right off. or if u don't give a sh!t about saving water, u can even hose the car down... even faster.

Re: New car - Polish

U r right! when come 2 waxing & polishing, its better 2 leave it 2 Pro. Just something 2 share.

discovered yesterday, not only that the washing done by my maid caused some minor scratches, (already damn furious):furious: she accidently scratched the front left bumper & left behind 3 deep & long & real ugly SCAR!!!!!! Again!!!!

No choice quickly sent the car straight to the Pro. In my mind was thinking, hopefully they can do something about it, or at least minimize the SCAR 2 minor scratch! If not got 2 spend some $$$$ to respray loh, what 2 do!:verysad: Just cant stand d sight of the SCAR.

went back earlier to c d waxing & polishing process, the guys there were just about to attend to the SCAR. Ty took out some white colour cream and rub on the scar, after a few rub, d scar were completely gone! me happy like hell man!!! My ride is like virgin again!

D scratches were quite deep, I really amazed by the result. So I asked them what cream was it? Where can i buy it? Ty said sorry, this is their own company product can't get it else where. Too bad!

So completely agree, the real waxing & polishing job, leave it to the Pro. BTW, d polish was done in CARS. (Should have taken a few photo - before & after. Damn!!)

Re: New car - Polish

for a brand new car, you don't have to polish it. Just send it for paint-sealant protection and you're cool! I polish my car once every 4 months. As for car wash, I send it back to the groomer once per week. Not only do they wash the car thoroughly, they complete it with a layer of wax on the boot, roof and hood to lock in the shine =)

I do get my maid to wash the car from time to time though, so far, she aint that bad. haha

Re: New car - Polish

I have always sent my new rides immediately to have them professionally applied with sealant (Zaino) after collection. After that I will groom my ride personally once a month (can meditate and exercise monthly). Does using claybar (soft99) during car wash remove the sealant?

Re: New car - Polish

Hi jvhuiz, Im from KL, so d info may not b relevant. Anyway, went to CARS, they have so many outlets throughout, usually at parking lot of shopping centre. With their recent promotion + Citibank card discount, pretty reasonable price.

Cheers!

Re: New car - Polish

steamy stream,

In BKK there should be plenty of car groomers offering sealing, coating for new paintworks. In fact I saw quite a few in the Rachada area opposite Robinson. My friend even showed me car magazines offering all these services.

Don't ask me details, I cannot understand Thai, just saw signages.

Re: New car - Polish

bro steamy,

Have you got your car paintwork sealed? If dark colored it is most advisable, those handheld polish wheel leave lots of circular hairline marks behind! BTW your new rims sibeh sui! Waiting for your body kit pic!
