New f30 temperature

Re: New f30 temperature

There's an alternative to in vent gauges too, this new one from AWRON.de although it takes up the whole vent (available for FXX series cars now too, although video below is from E9x series)

Awron DGA Gauge for F3X

only price i found so far is from a Hong Kong dealer, installed is HKD$7388  not cheap by any means

Re: New f30 temperature

Looks good ! Good part about it is that it can display more than 1 statistic at once . Unlike the vent gauge which you gotta press the button to view others .

In the end, see what the individual prefers la . Haha

If not wrong, Awron only make for LHD car so centre console gadge will be on passenger side thus harder to read on RHD cars. P3 has choice for LHD/RHD cars.

Re: New f30 temperature

You're right. Personally though I'd prefer it on the passenger side. I think the f30 Airconditioner is already a little weak so would prefer the vent closer to the driver to remain. Plus my wife always complains that she feels cold :p

can someone educate.. how important is this?

Well ...
How important or not is subjective to the user , really .

For F2x series, there's no gauges to know if your car is warmed up or not unlike F3x series where there's at least an oil temp gauge.

So now that I've a P3 gauge that can read my coolant temp ... I would know that I can actually start to rev my car once it reads 80deg rather than "butt feel" .And if it's reads a few degrees above the norm, I would know something could be wrong and send it straight to the workshop.

If there's no gauge, I would have to wait till the engine check-light comes on but by then, the low coolant levels might have already affected other parts of your car.

There are also many other readings which u can view too. (Intake temp, throttle response, speedometer, rpm, etc)

As mentioned, I love the 0-100 function. Pretty cool to actually know your actual timing!

Then it's a win-win situation!

Re: New f30 temperature

Hi all,

Just curious. What does your oil temp normally read? I get a typical reading of around 100C. Thanks and cheers!

Oh ... I forgot also one more nice feature to have ... The gauge can clear CEL too :) .

Re: New f30 temperature

pardon to bring this up but are the oil temp for f30 320 and 328 suppose to be the same since almost identical engines?

Normal city driving around 70-80km/hr it's between 90-95. For expressways driving above 85km/hr to 110km/hr it goes to between 100-110c, anyone else feedback on diff values?
